Dues!

Some of you  are asking about dues. Here's what you need to know...

* Dues are $10 annually.
* The last deadline for dues was 2/ 16 / 2011
*We are considering extending a late submission date for

 Wednesday 3/2/2011 @ 10:00am

If so, you will need to submit your dues to Kendra Smith, treasurer .
Location TBA.

NASW Ethics Conference! March 4th!

 We're on our way to the conference!

10 students from UNCG ( who are also NASW- NC and NASW-SO members) will be sponsored by our social work department to travel to this year's ethics conference!

Here are a couple of things to expect this year...

* Chances to network with other social work professionals in North Carolina
* A Recognition and Awards Luncheon
* 5 noted keynote speakers including our own Jack Register, MSW, LCSW, LCAS !
( He's also our advisor! We're so lucky... )

William S. Meyer, MSW, LCSW is the Director of Training for the
Department of Social Work

Susan R. Perry, Ph.D., MSW, LCSW is the Director of Counseling
and Co-Chair of Health, Wellness and Residential Life at The
Asheville School.

Mitchell Gold, is nationally known for his $100 million home furnishings
business, Gold is also a tireless advocate for LGBT
teens.

Ravita T. Omabu Okafor, MSW, LCSW practices psychotherapy
with children, adolescents, and adults through her private practice
in Knightdale, NC.

Jack Register, MSW, LCSW, LCAS is a Visiting Instructor in the
UNCG Department of Social Work and is also a PhD Candidate
with the Union Institute and University Interdisciplinary Program in
Public Policy & Social Change. Jack is a clinician with experience
in medical, non profit, and addiction care. Jack is also the former
advocacy & legislative staff member for NASW-NC and has been
involved in advocacy efforts of the NC Queer community. In 2007,
Social Work Today Magazine named Jack One of Today's Most
Influential Social Workers.
